ABOUT:
The Affinity Project is a series of events bridging time periods between ArtBark International's ADaPT Festival Series (www.adaptfest.com, www.rmadaptfest.com). Base participants have participated in ADaPT Festivals; additional participants are welcomed into the project as they are drawn to the excitement of the vision.

The Affinity I Project occurred in February of 2012 in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles, drawing together Southern California artists who had participated in the 2011 SB-ADaPT Festival.  The event was produced by SonneBlauma Danscz Theatre, which has since changed its name to ArtBark International.

ArtBark International produced the Affinity II Project in July of 2012 in Paris, FRANCE, drawing together Slovenian and Santa Barbaran artists who had participated in the 2011 SB-ADaPT Festival. Affinity II also drew in a new collaborator living in Paris, France.

The Affinity III Project has sprouted into what we are calling a "mini-festival," drawing together artists featured in the 2011 SB-ADaPT Festival from Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, Oregon, and New York. Affinity III will draw in an additional company from San Francisco, along with Santa Barbara's beloved NECTAR community. In this Project, we also continue our engagement with the Fishbon community.

Each Affinity Project has its own flair and its own flavor. Each Project strives to make each experience utterly unique and equally riveting and life-affirming for participants and audiences alike. Our mission is to highlight the value of international cross-cultural exchange and exchange between cities within nations. This kind of exchange fosters mutual understanding, tolerance, and respect ...plus, it's just plain fun!
